- existing system was poorly documented and contained many unused functionalities,
- existing system was constantly developed, new functionalities were added, many of which contained flaws continuously reported by users. Solutions for most of those errors were delayed in time up to the point where pressure from users was too significant.
Project tasks:
- analysis of existing system, functionalities and architecture,
- bugs and change requests identification and verification,
- effort estimation for development of all reported bugs/change requests,
- bug fixing and implementation of chosen change requests.
Achievements:
- the team got familiar with the large system and was ready to begin estimations and verification of bugs in a very short period of time (approx. 1,5 week),
- first productive code (bug fixes) was written after 2 weeks from project start,
- precise and accurate effort estimations,
- customer (cost effectiveness) and end-user (development of errors/bugs reported often more than a year ago) satisfaction with performed tasks.
